Welcome to Permadeck INDOORS
Wet rooms are becoming increasingly popular in many situations: luxury ensuites, hotel accommodation, care homes etc. Wherever a large area requires to be waterproofed the same problem as roofing occurs. Note: Tiling alone is NOT watertight
It’s often thought that because swimming pools are tiled that tiling must be watertight.  This couldn’t be further from reality; how often have we seen pools with missing or cracked tiles yet they don’t drain away?  Swimming pools have a watertight (hopefully) structure to which tiles are fixed and that’s how you use Permadeck for wet rooms.  Ideally the perimeter of your area is designed with a small upstand so that the whole area can contain the water.  It’s also prudent to design a slope or ‘fall’ into the floor so that water is directed to the outlet.
 The tiling should be left to completely dry before use as per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
Notes:
·
Permadeck is BBA certified as a waterproofing system, other so-called wet room systems have never been tested or approved.
·
Permadeck can be ANY size of area, ANY height up walls, ANY shape.
·
Tiles with or without underfloor heating can be laid onto the Permadeck surface.
·
Cheaper membranes using acrylic compounds do not like remaining wet over long periods. Permadeck, being polyester fibreglass, can remain immersed during its lifetime though any damage to the moulded surface should be resealed.
